In 2012, just before “The End of Time” (Dec 21st, 2012 – the end of the Mayan Calendar) I finished writing “Grail Wars”. It is a grand epic adventure spanning 25.000 years and ending in a battle between a materialistic and a spiritual worldview – and forms of government.

Towards the end of the book, a document is discovered, written by the the prophetic General Aleksei Oriano, who defended Stalingrad against the Germans (in the book). The document was given to Oriano by the Archangel Raphael and was “A Universal Declaration of Interdependence”. It was adopted as part of the new European constitution that was created as part of the storyline.

Now, 13 years later, I am taking a stand to create not a new European constitution, but a global constitution, and I thought the piece of fiction could perhaps serve as inspiration for those who are interested in this idea.

The Universal Declaration of Interdependence

Recognizing the oneness of all life, and opening ourselves to the source of all being, we the united peoples of the free nations of the world, dedicate ourselves to the service of the Greater Life in which we live and move and have our being.

We the people of the Earth, take the following truths to be self-evident: That all life is one, and all life is precious. That men and women are equals and created to give each other joy. That the role of government is to serve the people.

We, the people of the Earth, recognize that the One Life can only become visible through our differences. Each nation serves its own purpose and holds its own destiny. No nation is above another, and all serve the One Life.

We, the people of the Earth, hold it to be self-evident that every human being deserves all human liberties and that no human has the right to exploit another in any way. Each human being is the light of its own world, and responsible for the creations of its own mind.

We, the people of the Earth, recognize that it is the role of government to ensure justice, enforce peace, and provide security, so that its citizens can live with dignity. We recognize our responsibility to the community of nations, and respect and honor our differences as we celebrate the mystery of life together.

We, the people of the Earth, recognize that the only true religion is love, and that any given truth is but a path to love. We recognize the freedom to practice any faith and ritual that is performed with respect for other people’s rights to the same freedom.

We, the people of the Earth, recognize that money is a token of physical capital, a medium of exchange and a symbol of free will. No nation or institution can claim a monopoly on creating or distributing it, nor is it allowed to separate it from that which it represents.

We, the people of the Earth, recognize the responsibility of mankind towards nature and the non-human kingdoms and dedicate ourselves to serve the whole in a balance between current needs, and the needs of the future.

We, the people of the Earth, recognize that the only true source of joy and happiness lies in the presence of the One Life, and entrust to our governments to govern with wisdom, recognize the force of love in all matters, and seek to liberate the true power of the people in every way possible.

This being our creed, we entrust to each nation, individually and jointly, to create such forms of governments that are deemed best suited for this purpose.

In community,

To be signed by the representatives of all free nations wishing to join the global community of nations.
