How do we effectively take on the corporate world which is destroying the world at a terrifying rate?
By fostering a Great Alliance to create a Gaian Constitution.
The first step is to understand the natural alliance between four central groups in our society, who represent four archetypal energies. I will get back to this in a moment, but let me first explain my personal background for doing this work.
My personal background
In my life there has been four major domains that I have been interested in. They are:
- Ecovillages and community building. I grew up in one of the first co-housing projects in Denmark (created by my parents: Ross & Hildur Jackson) and lived there for over 20 years. It was an amazing time and as an adult I have pursued creating the next generation community: The Gaian Village.
- Spiritual Politics. I was quite young when I realized that the spiritual worldview had zero political influence and I have always wanted to change that. I was involved in the Danish upstart party “Alternativet” for four years, but the project never realized its promise to create a new political culture and eventually collapsed under its own weight to become a “normal” green party.
- The Mysteries and the Path of Initiation. Since I was a child, I have researched and explored a multitude of spiritual traditions. Asger Lorentsen’s version of Golden Heart Theosophy and Possibility Management are probably the most influential ones in my life.
- Gameworld Building. I did not have a word for this interest until I met the idea of “Gameworlds” from Possibility Management, but creating and experimenting with social structures is in my blood and also the reason why I created the training “Builders of the Dawn” long before I ever heard about Gameworld Building.
As my work on providing concrete proposals for how to deal with humanity’s rising challenges progress, these four interests have shown to align themselves perfectly with what is known as the four lineages in Archiarchy, and correspond to the four Archetypes (King, Warrior, Love, Magician) in Jungian psychology.
In researching Archiarchy it has been found that four types of people (four lineages) are essential for a thriving world. They are:
- Village Weavers (Lover energy) – those who weave the social life of the village. They are community builders, networkers, ecovillage residents, and relationship creators of all kinds.
- Gaia Guardians (Warrior energy) – those who protect everyone in the village from internal and external threats. They are activists, environmental advocates, idealistic politicians, writers, philosophers, and all who fight to protect Gaia.
- Evolutionaries (Magician energy) – those who drive development and transformation. They are healers, shamans, coaches, lightworkers, magicians, researchers, and all who work with consciousness development.
- Gameworld Builders (King/Queen energy) – those who create the structures that make everything work. They are visionaries, possibilitators, cultural engineers, social architects, innovators, and all who design practical solutions for a regenerative future.
If a project lacks any of these four lineages among its members, it does not function well.
Bring three groups together
The work to create a Great Alliance, naturally begins with creating unity between the pioneers that belong to these four groups. However, dealing with the political world (the Power aspect) is intrinsically difficult, and I have therefore chosen to start with the other three.
Given my own history, my initial thinking is therefore to first create an alliance between:
- Visionary Possibilitators representing the Gameworld Builders as a group
- Visionary Ecovillagers representing the Village Weavers as a group
- Visionary Esotericists, representing the Evolutionaries as a group
The gameworlds of Possibility Management, Ecovillages and Theosophy are founded on very different values, distinctions and practices. Attempts have been made, particularly from PM to land certain distinctions in relation to initiation in the Ecovillage gameworld, but with very limited success.
Gameworld technology
One of the really valuable technologies to come out of Possibility Management is the concept of “Gameworlds” and “Contexts”.
Briefly put, a gameworld is something you can be part of (as in member of, or customer in) and a gameworld has:
- Purpose (direction)
- Context (relation and processes), and
- Rules of Engagement (behaviors and transactions).
The purpose sets the direction. The Context are agreements about how to relate. The Rules of engagement are agreements about how to behave.
One of the key problems in building in a bridge between different gameworlds is to create an alignment between their contexts. Because if you do not have this alignment, the result is “context war”: everyone tries to impose THEIR context on the others, because this is what they know and take for granted.
Since the distinctions of Gameworld and Context are NOT part of the Ecovillage and Esoteric worlds, they have typically NOT articulated their context clearly. That does not mean it is not there, though. It just means it exists as tacit understandings rather than explicit agreements.
A New Context: Authentic Joy
To address the need for a shared context, I have created a new context called “Authentic Joy” which is a synthesis of the best parts of the context of Ecovillages, Possibility Management and Esotericism. This context is a living document that serves as a basis for negotiating a common understanding that will be basis for an alliance between three groups, whose wisdom and competence are all essential in my view.
The work with creating the Great Alliance is therefore contexted in Authentic Joy.
People from each of the three communities will be able to recognize parts of their old contexts in the new context – and there will be parts that are totally new to them.
Initially I have chosen to not engage with the political/activist world, because it full of confrontational energies that will make creating a shared context very hard. It is hard enough as it is. Once the initial work is underway, the integration of the fourth lineage: the Earth guardians, in the form of social and political activists, will proceed.
