This is a true tale of great heroism and heartbreak. Be warned!
In March, 1244 after 35 years of civil war and 10 months of siege in the mountain fortress Montsegur, the last 225 priests and priestesses of the gnostic Christian faith, historically known as the “Cathars”, surrendered to the Roman crusader armies. They were given a choice between swearing loyalty to the Church of Rome or being burned alive.
This an account of what happened that morning based on past life memories. The priests and priestesses were called “parfaits” (perfects).
Princess Tamariel’s Last Song
A gentle mist across the mountain lay
That fateful morning so far away
The sun slowly rising above a giant stake
Heralding a day of cosmic heartbreak
“It’s time” said the old man, scars in his voice
“Surrender we must, there is no choice
We either die one by one, as we starve to death
Or we yield our shields and bow our heads
Around a feeble fire made from their last piece of wood
224 parfaits sat quietly gauging the heavy mood
Only one was missing, at the rampart standing all alone
Princess Tamariel fiercely clutching her priestess stone
“No” cried her voice across the morning skies
“We shall NOT yield to weakness and to lies”
Tired, haggard, worn and torn
224 faces turned as one
Into the circle Tamariel strode, until she before the parfaits stood
Fire in heart and eyes, uplifting the oppressive mood
“We shall go hand in hand into the fire and defy death
Holding our heads high while singing with our dying breath”
Silent sighs around the circle went
As tired hungry bodies squirmed and bent
Feeling the weight of their terrible fate
Trying not to yield to gnawing hate
“But what of your daughter Umiel?
You will leave her to a fate worse than hell”
The wise old parfait bent his head
His weary body dense as lead
Tears in her eyes, trying to steady her voice
Tamariel said “I too say we have no choice
We must either chose death or face a life of lies
Our hearts may be the battlefield, but the soul of Mankind is the prize”
“Last night a golden dragon came in my sleep
And showed me a path that will make our children weep
The Heart of the Sun wants to birth a planet of Blue, Green and Gold
A marvel of beauty and wisdom for all of cosmos to behold”
“To do this we must prove that WE are stronger
We must show that we CAN endure longer
We must become the living sacrifice
And be willing to pay any price”
“Our hearts will be scorched
Our souls all but lost
777 years we must endure
And our children will suffer for sure”
“But we will rise again before it’s over
As little dragons of Green and Gold
Then we will finally take back our power
And the deeper truth will be told”
Silence the circle befell until finally the old man spoke
His voice now clear, shedding his worn-out cloak
“I will follow you into the fire and fight for the cosmic prize”
He took a knee and one by one all followed suit and chose death over lies
Tamariel’s tears ran free that morning
Knowing there was no time to send her daughter warning
She had knowingly thrown Umiel into harm’s way
A sacrifice beyond meaningful say
In the shadow of the mountain gray
The children of the Grail had been stowed away
But young Umiel would not wisdom heed
She ran to the mountain, her mother to feed
Sneaking towards the castle on high
Umiel suddenly heard her mother’s singing cry
She then saw her mother walk towards a giant stake
And felt the earth below her shake
Surrounded by friends and fire on the stake
Her mother’s voice rang clear, not once did it break
With Tamariel the last elves sang “We are the truth and love cannot die”
But one by one the voices fell silent until a final shout rang across the morning sky
“We will be back!”
Scorching fumes blackened the sun
Terror and big lies that day had won
But the eternal song of truth from hearts on fire
Still echoes across the cosmos sounding ever higher
“Love cannot die”
The day has come to heal that terrible song
And finally right that ancient wrong
Because Tamariel and Umiel have come to even the score
Calling for the elves to stand together once more.
Gaia is becoming a great dragon of Blue, Green and Gold
A cosmic marvel for all of creation to behold
Let your scorched hearts be healed and know that it was not in vain
Because our love never died and we are here again!

Historical Background
In medieval times, after a more than 1.000 years of Christianity, a great renewal of the Christian mysteries had been planned. It involved the Knights Templars, Troubadours, new mystery schools and it was centered in Languedoc in southern France, where powerful noble families protected the disciples seeking to renew the Christian culture.
In 1167 a new church (the Cathar church) was created and for 42 years this church spread across Europe until pope Innocent III decided to put a stop to it in 1209. Having lost the holy lands to king Saladin in 1187 and having waged several unsuccessful crusades to take it back, pope Innocent III decided in 1209 to turn his armies against the gnostic Christians in southern France who rejected his authority – the Cathars.
The Cathars were a cosmopolitan people living in Southern France and Northern Spain. They called themselves “Albigensians” (after their capital “Albi”) or “Les Bonne Homme/Femmes” (the good men and women). From their tradition came the myth of the Holy Grail and the legends of the Elven people, which is evident when you realize that the German name for an Elf is an “Albi”.
For 35 years war ravaged the land until the last 225 parfaits (men and women) were cornered in the castle Montesegur. After 10 months of siege they surrendered and were given the choice to swear loyalty to the church or be burned alive.
In august 1321 the last known Parfait, Guilhem Belibaste was burned at the stake and just before he was burned he prophecied that “we shall return in 700 years when the laurel turns green again” (the Kathars believed in reincarnation). The following poem was written in connection with the fulfillment of the 700 year prophecy of the Kathars in the summer of 2021.
Curiously no major film has ever been made about this event, which is one of the most important, and tragic, spiritual events in medieval Europe.
